1998, Franklin Mint 1951 Buick LeSabre in Original Box

1998, Franklin Mint 1951 Buick LeSabre in Original Box

I very rarely sell any toy produced after 1970, but after seeing this die cast metal model of the 1951 Buick LeSabre concept car I made an exception. It's in pristine mint condition and complete with original box, Styrofoam insert, and all paperwork. The only issue I've found is that the driver's door doesn't stay completely shut (see 1st photo). Apparently the Franklin Mint stopped production of the car for this and similar issues.

Loaded with all sorts of details and movable parts (removable roof, rotating headlight, doors, trunk, and hood all open, front wheels can be positioned, etc.). In other words everything you'd expect it do (besides run on its own power) it does. It's really a beautiful car. I wanted to own it just so I could photograph it.

It comes with its original white cardboard printed box, intact 2pc. Styrofoam insert, plastic packing bags, product hang tag, certificate of authenticity from Franklin Mint, owner's manual, and specifications sheet.

Size: 1/24 scale, 8¼" long.

Sold: Jan. 2012

Price Sold: $ 101
